Cardiology
Cardiology is a medical specialty that deals with problems involving the circulatory system and the heart. Congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, electrophysiology, and heart failure are all treated in this field, as well as medical diagnostics. Cardiologists are doctors that specialise in this subject and are part of the internal medicine speciality. Cardiology also includes various subspecialties such as cardiac surgery and paediatric cardiology. While paediatric cardiology deals with heart problems in children, cardiac surgery is a subspecialty of cardiac surgery.
Despite the fact that the cardiovascular system is linked to blood, cardiology is not particularly associated with hematology-related disorders. Tropopins, electrolyte changes, decreased oxygen carrying capacity leading to hypovolemic shock, anaemia, and coagulopathies are some of the exceptions that impact normal blood functioning.
The hospital takes care of all basic medical specialties under one roof. It is well equipped with :
All cardiologist professionals are trained to look at any heart problems that may arise. Within cardiology, there are colleges that study both kid and adult cardiac problems, though through different training paths. As a result, an adult cardiologist is unqualified to treat a kid, and a paediatric cardiologist is unqualified to treat an adult. The surgery portion is outside of cardiology’s scope and falls under the area of cardiology surgery. For example, coronary artery bypass surgery, cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, and valve replacement are all surgical procedures performed by cardiology surgeons rather than cardiologists.
